The Battle of the Don Cassocks Against the Tartars
St. Sergius of Radonezh blessed St. Dimitry Donskoi to undertake battle of the Don Cassocks against the Tatars. The battle at Kulikova was the beginning of the end of Tatar rule in Russia. The British Library has this 17th century Old Slavonic Illuminated Manuscript detailing the events of this famous war in 1380 with Mamai.
