One thing that is undeniable is that the Church never taught such an error as monophysitism, the Lord and Savior never acted with a single nature after the Incarnation. Those who insist that Jesus Christ acted with one nature reject not only the last 4 Ecumenical Councils but they also reject the Saints of old who wonderfully and accurately explained the correct faith about the natures of the Lord. The Coptic Pope Shenouda III did say that they are miaphysites and not monophysites. They believe Christ consisted of two natures that united becoming “one nature” (“mia physis”). They also continue to commemorate Monophysite saints, such as Dioscorus, all the same. Miaphysitism is also heresy, not just monophysitism. In the end both miaphysitism and monophysitism see the Incarnation as a single nature. What they are is differences that have no real distinctions. Either way it is heresy. They might try to give explanations as to how we can “imagine” Jesus Christ as having two natures but they always come back and settle with their being one acting nature. Historically the term monophysites was not limited; Monophysites is an accurate term for all Non-chalcedonians even if they do not appreciate the designation. To say St. Cyril taught that Christ acted with one nature confuses the meanings that the word ‘nature’ has. Besides, St. Cyril approved of “two natures” in the famous Formula of Union in 433, which the last 4 Ecumenical Councils upheld. The Twelve Chapters, as they are called, do not bring any stigma upon St. Cyril as he was relating to the heretic Nestorius in a different heretical issue. Chalcedon was dealing with monophysite heretics, miaphysites use the term monophysites themselves. Emperor Zeno, with all his efforts in 482, was not able to reconcile with monophysites and nothing has changed. They helped the Arabs and Turks to defeat the Byzantine empire.

Here is an excerpt from the file CREEDS EARLY

Definition of Chalcedon (451 AD)

Following, then, the holy fathers, we unite in teaching all men to

confess the one and only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. This selfsame

one is perfect both in deity and in humanness; this selfsame one is

also actually God and actually man, with a rational soul <meaning

human soul> and a body. He is of the same reality as God as far as

his deity is concerned and of the same reality as we ourselves as

far as his humanness is concerned; thus like us in all respects, sin

only excepted. Before time began he was begotten of the Father, in

respect of his deity, and now in these "last days," for us and behalf

of our salvation, this selfsame one was born of Mary the virgin, who

is God-bearer in respect of his humanness.

We also teach that we apprehend this one and only Christ-Son, Lord,

only-begotten -- in two natures; and we do this without confusing the

two natures, without transmuting one nature into the other, without

dividing them into two separate categories, without contrasting them

according to area or function. The distinctiveness of each nature is

not nullified by the union. Instead, the "properties" of each nature are

conserved and both natures concur in one "person" and in one reality

<hypostasis>. They are not divided or cut into two persons, but are

together the one and only and only-begotten Word <Logos> of God,

the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus have the prophets of old testified; thus the

Lord Jesus Christ himself taught us; thus the Symbol of Fathers

<the Nicene Creed> has handed down to us.

These type of One World Order spiritual unions are most unfortunate and only promote falsehoods.

The Monophysites are founding members of the WCC and have underhanded dealings with the Soviet MP.
